She likes listening to classical music, & going for ballet shows and car shows. She is married to Chris Donovin, who is a licensed and certified physician assistant. Betty is a soccer enthusiast and loves to travel in and around the United States.

Highly involved in the designing and renovation of homes, Betty Godwin Mackie has designed and overseen five home renovation projects and acted as a general contractor of the new kitchens. She works closely with the interior designers and the owners to choose the desired paint colors, cabinets, fixtures, hardware, and more. Keeping the work in a fixed budget and delivering it on time, she re-purposed fixtures for light, kitchen and bath. However, she had to face many challenges while working with the home renovation projects. She was responsible for paying the contractors and had to stay on budget for each project undertaken.
